Great old school bar atmosphere! Split a bunch of starters and they were all delicious! And of course you can't go wrong with a Liter of German beer! Waitress was very friendly and quick too.

This is one of those reviews that just by looking back at these pictures and writing about it makes me want to come back ASAP. First of all, the interior and the outdoor seating area is gorgeous. The staff is also knowledgeable about the menu and can provide recommendations. My husband was so excited that there is an authentic German restaurant outside of Philly because he loves all things bratwurst. He was so impressed by his sampler (the picture speaks for itself!) as a vegetarian, I was more than content with the pierogies. These were probably the best I've ever had! Served with sautéed onions and sour cream, they were beyond delicious. I can't wait to come back and try a few more foods they offer and some beer!

So. much. food. and you really can't go wrong - I'm not a huge fan of German food, but not only was the food tasty, there was a wide selection and honestly, something for everyone. We rolled in on a Friday night with a party of 8 - 4 adults and 4 kids. They were able to seat us in a tiny back room with great ambience. You feel like you're walking into someone's house. We were seated and served pretzel bites, which we all devoured, dipping them in the mustards on the table. Our waitress was excellent - patient & kind with a positive attitude. She handled our questions, order changes, and loudness with ease. The room we were in was in the back corner of the restaurant - it didn't get great internet service (or cell service at all) and the acoustics were awful - even when we weren't loud as a group, we sounded incredibly loud. Throughout our meal, I tried a little of everything. The sauerkraut was awesome, the desserts were delish, and my German meatballs were a great treat. The Old Bay Teasers were easily our favorite app. While it was too chilly when we were there, I love that they have an outdoor area. The Newportville Inn is the perfect meeting point for our two families, we will definitely stop by again!

If you like German food this place is for you. My wife and I went with friends to this restaurant last night and had a very enjoyable meal. We hadn't been back to this establishment in about 20 years but it was as good as always. It's amazing that a restaurant can stay consistent over decades. Service was excellent with very friendly waiters. The very old building gives it a special charm. Worth a visit.

Good quality German cuisine, great German beers on tap. Largest pretzel I've ever seen, goes well with the beer cheese sauce.

Local place that I had never been to but decided to visit. Good drinks and food. Their menu is mainly German inspired dishes. The French onion soup was AMAZING.
